This Gyotaku print is the print of a basket full of Martha's Vineyard Bay Scallops. First the basket was printed in intervals and then the basket was filled with scallops. The print was first printed in Sumi Ink and then painted in with pearlescent acrylic paints. The original is printed on Rice paper and does not have a black background.
